Delete your account and your data.
How to request deletion of your Settr account and the personal data associated with it. One request. One confirmation. Done in seven business days.
What this page is for
This is the official way to request deletion of your Settr account and the personal data associated with it. It applies to client users — people with a login to a Settr workspace — and to creators who appear in our indexed creator graph and want to be removed from it.
Use this page when you want your account and your personal data removed. Use the Privacy policy if you instead want to access, correct, or export your data without deleting it.
Who can make a request
You can request deletion if you are:
- A client user with an active or inactive login on a Settr workspace.
- A creator represented in the indexed creator graph — even if you have never spoken to Settr.
- An authorised representative of the client organisation, acting on its behalf.
- A legal representative of the data subject (parent, guardian, executor).
If you are a client's named approver and you ask us to delete workspace data, we will notify the client before processing the request — because workspace-level data may belong to the client entity, not to an individual user.
What gets deleted
When we process a deletion request, we remove:
- Account credentials, profile, and contact details.
- Personal data we hold about you under contract or legitimate interest.
- For creators: the entry in the indexed creator graph, any cached audience signals, and any commercial cadence signals derived from your public content.
- Operational logs that identify you, replaced with non-identifying tombstones.
Backups are purged on their normal rotation — typically within ninety days. We do not actively restore deleted data from backups except when required by law.
What we must retain
Some records have to be kept even after a deletion request — to comply with law or to defend our position in a dispute. We retain the minimum necessary, for the minimum necessary period:
- Billing records
- Invoices, payment proofs, and related accounting documents. Retained for ten years under German commercial law.
- Tax records
- Records required by tax authorities. Retained for the period set by applicable tax law.
- Legal holds
- Data subject to an active legal hold (litigation, regulatory inquiry). Retained until the hold is released.
- Anonymous aggregates
- Statistics derived from your data that no longer identify you. Retained without time limit.
We do not retain data "for marketing purposes" after deletion. If a record is kept after a deletion request, it is because we are legally required to keep it.
How to make a request
One of two routes:
- By email. Send a request to privacy@settr.com from the email address on file. Subject line: "Deletion request — [your name]". Include the workspace name (if client) or the social handle to remove (if creator).
- By post. Settr AB, Attn: Data Protection Officer, Stockholm, Sweden. We accept paper requests for accessibility reasons — please include a reply address.
What happens next
- Within two business days — we confirm receipt and may ask one identity-verification question.
- Within seven business days — we complete the deletion and send a confirmation.
- Within ninety days — your data is purged from backups on the normal rotation.
If we cannot complete the request — for example because we must retain a record under law — we tell you exactly which record and why, and we delete everything else.
Confirmation and proof
When we complete a deletion we send you a written confirmation that lists the categories of data deleted, the records retained (if any) and the reason, and the date the request was completed. You can use this confirmation as proof of deletion.
If you do not receive confirmation within ten business days of your request, write to us again. Lost requests are exceptionally rare and we want to fix them.
If you disagree with our decision
If we partially decline a deletion request, you can ask the DPO to review it. If you still disagree, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — for Settr, the lead authority is the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
We will never restrict your access to a supervisory authority. We do ask that you talk to us first — most cases are resolved without escalation.
